Unveil Ceremony of Guangzhou Xingji Offshore Engineering Company Limited
On May 31, 2015, Guangzhou Xingji Offshore Engineering Company Limited (“Xingji Offshore”), the joint venture between TSC Group Holdings Limited (“TSC”) and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited (“HPWS”) was officially unveiled at a ceremony held at HPWS. During the ceremony, TSC and HPWS also entered into a cooperation agreement to develop areas of strategic importance and enhance mutual efforts. In total, 21 people attended the ceremony, including TSC Chairman, Mr. Jiang Binghua, TSC Board Member, Mr. Jiang Longsheng, HPWS president, Mr. Chen Zhongqian and Alliance Offshore Drilling (“AOD”) president, Mr. Paul Lim.
Xingji Offshore is a Guangzhou Nansha Free-Trade Area (FTA) registered organization. The company was formed on the basis of TSC and HPWS’ mutual interest in leveraging each other’s respective strengths to enhance its position in the offshore equipment market. The company will utilize its professional team to create specialized market solutions with a scope including but not limited to rig design, construction, equipment and marketing. The team looks to play to their strengths to establish a win-win environment.
In 2012, TSC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with HPWS, to carry out in-depth cooperation for a jack-up rig project. In the following year, TSC entered into a construction contract with HPWS for the 400 feet R-550D jack-up, which is currently under construction at the shipyard. Once construction is completed, the rig will be well positioned for the Mexican as well as Central and South American markets.
Going forward, Xingji Offshore looks to build off the cooperation established during the R-550D project, to design and develop a variety of offshore projects for HPWS. Moreover, through these efforts, Xinji Offshore will help HPWS to cement its position in the southern China market. TSC and HPWS will continue to mutually make concerted efforts and carry out in-depth project cooperation to provide customers cost-effective world-class service.
