Interstellar Offshore Holds Opening Ceremony
On December 16th 2015, Guangzhou Interstellar Offshore Engineering Company Limited (Interstellar Offshore), the joint venture between TSC Group Holdings Limited (TSC) and CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited (HPWS) held its opening ceremony in Guangzhou,China. Representatives from the Nanshan District Engineering Bureau, Zentech, Guangzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, ABS, DNV, CCS, TSC ,HPWS, and AOD attended the event to usher in this important milestone for Interstellar Offshore.
To kick off the event, an overview of the business was provided, dating back to its inception. HPWS Deputy GM, Zhicheng Dong and TSC Chairman, Binghua Jiang later spoke to the group of their high expectations for the future development of Interstellar Offshore. While the offshore engineering market is sure to have its fair share of opportunities and risks over the next few years, Interstellar Offshore will leverage its market strengths and cooperate with industry leaders to light a spark of opportunity for China’s offshore engineering market amongst the oil and gas industry’s current winter. To wrap-up the event representative from the Engineering Bureau, TSC Chairman, Mr. Jiang, HPWS Deputy GM, Mr. Dong and AOD Operations Director, Mr. Comport joined together on stage to cut the ribbon and officially launch Interstellar offshore, the new force in China’s offshore engineering design industry.
Looking ahead, Interstellar Offshore will look to leverage HPWS’ advantageous multi-decade track record and significant infrastructure as well as the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute’s (SDARI) professional design experience to firmly cement itself at the forefront of the offshore engineering design industry. Interstellar Offshore looks forward to cooperating with industry leaders in China to together develop China’s offshore industry in the long-term.
